Nothing Tastes Like Mm's Three Cup Chicken

We are happy to have my inspiration for cooking, my mother, Daisy, joined us as our guest chef for this cooking class. For this class, we are choosing four of my mother's favorite dishes (also my absolute favorites since I was little.) These dishes are representations of southern Chinese cuisine, as well as down home "mom-style" that everyone loves.

* 三杯雞 three cup chicken: a perfect marriage between sesame oil, rice wine, and soy sauce.
* 炒香噴噴 Hakka style stir-fry: originated from Hakka cuisine, the flavor of Chinese chives and bean curd will make you eat an extra bowl of rice!
蛤蜊絲瓜湯 Clam soup with Luffa: this yummy soup is perfect for the fall weather. It is rich in vitamins and typically called "the beauty soup" in Chinese culture.
* 綠豆湯 Mung bean soup- for desert, we will make a simple and nutritious mung bean soup. It can be served chilled or hot depending on the weather.

Another mother-daughter pair: Barbara and Camille, tasting the differences
between store bought and farmer's market scallions.
